On balanced realizations of bounded real and positive real functions (Q1923191): Difference between revisions

The authors deal with the derivation of balanced realizations for the classes of scalar bounded real and positive real transfer functions. The method is based on the use of normalized coprime factorizations with respect to indefinite metrics and on the construction of suitable characteristic functions. The central idea is to use the shift realization and choose an appropriate basis for a matrix representation.
