Generalizing earlier results of \textit{M. Fiedler} [Linear Algebra Appl. 9, 119-142 (1974; Zbl 0322.15015)] and others, the author establishes some new sufficient conditions for \(n\) real numbers to be the spectrum of some \(n\times n\) symmetric nonnegative matrix, and for \(n\) complex numbers to be the spectrum of some \(n\times n\) normal nonnegative matrix.
