    It is shown that under suitable restrictions a bilinear function \(M\) on the algebra of \(n\times n\) matrices over an algebraically closed field \(F\), that satisfies the conditions: \(AB+aBA=0\) implies \(M(A,B)=0\) \((a\in F)\), and \(\text{rank} (AB+aBA)=1\) implies \(\text{rank } M(A,B)=1\) for all matrices \(A\) and \(B\), has either a form \(M(X,Y)= P(XY+ aYX)Q\), or \(M(X,Y)= P(XY+ aYX)^t Q\) \((P,Q\in GL_n(F))\).
