A \(k\)-arc in a projective space is a set of \(k\) points such that no three are collinear. The \(k\)-arc is complete if it cannot be embedded in a \(k+1\) arc. A normal rational curve \(K\) in \(PG(n,q)\), \(2\leq n\leq q-2\) is \(q+1\) arc equivalent to the set of points of the form \((1,t, \dots, t^n)\) together with \((0,0, \dots,1)\) where \(t\) varies over the multiplicative group of \(GF(q)\). The author constructs small complete \(k\) arcs which have \(k-1\) points in common with a normal rational curve.
