It is shown that two theorems of the authors in [ibid. 32, No. 4, 581-616 (1996; Zbl 0879.35116)] on estimates of the growth orders of the eigenfunctions of Schrödinger operators with potentials which oscillate wildly at infinity, can be used to generalise results by Khosrovshahi, Levine and Payne, Kalf and Kumar, and Agmon.
