    According to \textit{D. Ž. Đoković} and \textit{K. Zhao} [Algebra Colloq. 3, 245-272 (1996; Zbl 0862.17013)] a generalized Block algebra \(\mathcal L(A,\alpha ,\varphi )\) is Jdefined by the following data. Let \(A\) be an abelian group, \(F\) be a field of characteristic 0, \(L\) be a vector space over \(F\) with a basis \(\{ e_x, x\in A \}\), \(\alpha ,\beta \in \hom (A,F), \varphi =\alpha \wedge \beta, \varphi \neq 0, \ker \alpha \cap \ker \beta =0\). Then \(L\) is a Lie algebra with multiplication \[ [e_x,e_y]=[\varphi (x,y)+\alpha (x-y)]e_{x+y}, \] and \(\mathcal L(A,\alpha ,\varphi )=L^2/Z(L)\) is a simple Lie algebra. Under the assumption \(\beta (A)=\mathbb Z\) the authors construct the subalgebra \(L_{\beta }=\langle{} e_x, \beta (x)\geqslant -1 \rangle{}\) in \(L\). Then \(Z(L) \subset L_{\beta }\subset L^2\). The paper is devoted to the detailed study of the subalgebra \(\mathcal L_{\beta }(A,\alpha ,\varphi )=L_{\beta }/Z(L)\). It is shown that \(\beta \) is defined uniquely unless \(A\cong \mathbb Z^2\). It is proved that \(\mathcal L_{\beta }(A,\alpha ,\beta )\) is a simple Lie algebra. For these algebras all derivations, automorphisms and central extensions are found. The conditions of isomorphism of such subalgebras are obtained. All subalgebras \(\mathcal L_{\beta }(A,\alpha ,\varphi )\) in the case when \(A\cong \mathbb Z^2\) are found.
