The author studies the irreducibility and unitarity of highest weight modules of the quantized enveloping algebra associated to \(\mathfrak{su}(n,1)\). She obtains a classification of these modules analogous to that of [\textit{T. J. Enright, R. E. Howe} and \textit{N. R. Wallach}, Prog. Math. 40, 97-143 (1983; Zbl 0535.22012)] in the classical context. She also computes all commutation relations between root vectors in \(\mathcal U_q({\mathfrak{su}}(n,1))\).-- This paper is part of her doctoral thesis.
