Edition of the Istikmāl d'al-Mu'taman (XIth century) by Ibn Sartāq, a mathematician of the XIIIth-XIVth centuries (Q1360078): Difference between revisions

In his paper the author presents a 13/14th-century work ``The Perfection in Mathematics'' by Muḥammad ibn Jawbār ibn Sartāq al Marāghī, extant in the MSS Cairo, Bibliothèque de l'Université 23029 (dated 1314) and Istanbul, Askeri Müze 64 (dated 1313). The work contains a complete redaction of the Kitāb al-Istikmāl (Book of Perfection) by the Andalusian mathematician al-Mu'taman ibn Hūd (11th century). It informs us about the missing pieces of al-Mu'taman's book and about the content of his project that had never been completed.
