Consider the parabolic problem \[ u_t -\mathop{div} a(x,t,u,Du) = \mu \quad\text{in } Q,\qquad u = 0 \quad \text{on } \mathcal PQ, \] where \(a(x,t,z,\xi)\) behaves like \(|\xi|^{p-2}\xi\), \(Q\) is a space-time cylinder with parabolic boundary \(\mathcal PQ\), and \(\mu\) is a measure on \(Q\). If \(\mu\) is the measure associated to a function \(f \in L^{p/(p-1)}(Q)\), it is known that this problem has a weak solution with \(Du \in L^{p}(Q)\). On the other hand, if \(f\) is less smooth (or if \(\mu\) does not have such a function associated with it), the theory for existence and regularity of solutions is far less developed. In this paper, the authors assume primarily only that \(\mu\) is a bounded measure on \(Q\). They show then that the solution and its spatial gradient are in the anisotropic Lebesgue space \(L^{q,r}(Q)\) with suitable constants \(q\) and \(r\). If \(\mu\) is the measure associated with a function \(f\in L^m\) with \(1< m < p\), then the solution and its gradient lie in better Lebesgue spaces. The basic method used is that of considering the truncations \(T_k(u)\). This method has previously been used by these authors for elliptic problems.
