    Soient \({\mathcal K}\) un espace de Hilbert, \({\mathcal H}\) un de ses sous-espaces vectoriels fermés, \(P_{\mathcal H}\) la projection orthogonale de \({\mathcal K}\) sur \({\mathcal H}\), puis une sous-algèbre \({\mathcal A}\) de \({\mathcal L}({\mathcal K})\). On dit que \({\mathcal H}\) est semi-invariant pour \({\mathcal A}\) si pour tout élément \( A\) de \({\mathcal A}\) l'opérateur sur \({\mathcal H}\) défini par \(P_{\mathcal H} A|_{\mathcal H}\) est un homomorphisme de \({\mathcal A}\) dans \({\mathcal L}({\mathcal K})\). Les propriétés et les caractérisations de tels sous-espaces semi-invariants sont longuement et minutieusement étudiés, illustrés par des exemples. Le document se poursuit par l'examen des notions de représentation d'une sous-algèbre unifère d'une \(C^*\)-algèbre avec unité et de résolution.
