First, the authors state that all unperturbed homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits are unbounded, and use McGehee transformation to pass from infinite to finite points. Then the authors apply the extended Melnikov method to the circular planar restricted three-body problem. Under some restrictions, the authors prove the existence of transversal homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits, and give the global phase diagram on a Poincaré section for an energy surface.
