    [For part I see ibid. 85, No. 1, 1-38 (1991; Zbl 0731.20029).] Sei \(G\) eine zusammenhängende reduktive lineare algebraische Gruppe über einem Körper \(k\) einer Charakteristik \(\neq 2\), \(\beta\) eine Involution von \(G\) definiert über \(k\) und \(G_\beta\) die Fixpunktmenge von \(\beta\), \(H\) eine \(k\)-offene Untergruppe davon. Bezeichne weiter \(G_k\) (bzw. \(H_k\)) die Menge der \(k\)-rationalen Punkte von \(G\) (bzw. \(H\)). \(G/H\) heißt eine symmetrische Varietät, \(G_k/H_k\) symmetrische \(k\)-Varietät. Die Geometrie der Bahnen einer minimalen parabolischen \(k\)-Untergruppe \(P\) von \(G\) auf einer solchen symmetrischen \(k\)-Varietät ist nun von fundamentaler Bedeutung, insbesondere in der Darstellungstheorie solcher Varietäten. Diese Bahnen lassen sich durch die \(H_k\)-Konjugationsklassen von \(\beta\)-stabilen maximalen \(k\)-spaltenden Tori charakterisieren. Der Autor nimmt in einer Serie von Arbeiten diese Charakterisierung und Klassifizierung für verschiedene Grundkörper \(k\) vor. In der vorliegenden zweiten Untersuchung wird gezeigt, daß man das Klassifikationsproblem auf zwei Teilprobleme reduzieren kann -- eines davon ist eine Klassifikation der entsprechenden \(H\)-Konjugationsklassen. Der Autor gibt eine Charakterisierung dieser Klassen und eine partielle Klassifikation für die Fälle, daß der Grundkörper \(k=\mathbb{R}\), \(\mathbb{Q}_k\), ein endlicher Körper oder ein Zahlkörper ist.
