This paper deals with methods of hierarchical and adaptive visualization. The authors present an interactive visualization tool for exploration of the some simulated physical process using a multiresolution methods for a large class of hierarchical and nested meshes. Such approach is based on a hierarchical traversal of grid elements combined with an adaptive selection of the hierarchical depth. This methodology can be applied both to isosurface generation and to a multiresolutional slicing algorithm for volume data. The examples illustrate a high efficiency of the proposed algorithms.
