    Es seien \(E, A, K\in \mathbb{R}^{2n\times 2n}\), und \(K\) sei regulär und schiefsymmetrisch. Die Schar \(P(s, t)= sE- tA\), mit \(s\), \(t\in\mathbb{C}\) besitzt \(z_0\in\overline{\mathbb{C}}\) als Eigenwert, wenn es \(s_0, t_0\in \mathbb{C}\) mit \(z_0= s_0/t_0\) und mit \(\text{det }P(s_0, t_0)= 0\) gibt. Das Paar \((P(s, t),K)\) heißt symplektisch, wenn \(E^TKE= A^TKA\) gilt. Im Fall \(K= \left(\begin{smallmatrix} 0 &-I_n\\ I_n & 0\end{smallmatrix}\right)\) wird \(P(s, t)\) selbst symplektisch genannt. Zwei symplektische Paare \((P_1(s, t),K_1)\) und \((P_2(s, t),K_2)\) werden symplektisch äquivalent genannt, wenn mit regulären reellen Matrizen \(V\), \(W\) die Bedingungen \(P_1(s, t)\cdot V= W\cdot P_2(s, t)\) und \(W^TK_1W= K_2\) erfüllt sind. Verff. untersuchen die in der Klasse der symplektischen Paare vorhandenen Symmetrien, indem sie jedem symplektischen Paar \((P(s, t),K)\) eindeutig ein symplektisch äquivalentes Paar \((\widetilde P(s, t),\widetilde K)\) zuordnen, wobei dann für dieses kanonische Paar \(\widetilde P(s, t)= \bigoplus^\ell_{i= 1}(sE_i- tA_i)\) und \(\widetilde K= \bigoplus^\ell_{i= 1}K_i\) gilt und die Matrizen \(E_i\), \(A_i\), \(K_i\) vier durch Eigenwerte charakterisierten Typen angehören können.
