We propose variational principle to establish the governing equations of magnetoelastic interaction for soft ferromagnetic thin plates in complex magnetic fields. The functional is chosen as the sum of magnetic energy, strain energy and external work of applied magnetic fields. Additionally, we obtain an expression for equivalent magnetic forces exerted on ferromagnetic plates. It is shown that this theoretical model can describe satisfactorily experimental results.
