There are many research results about nonlinear operator equations because of its importance in theories and applications. As these equations, in general, are ill posed, a regularization method to solve them is applied. In the last thirty years, the theory of nonlinear functional analysis has made great progress because of the introduction of two kinds of important nonlinear operators -- monotone operators and accretive operators. The nonlinear ill-posed monotone operator equations has been studied by many authors. But the study is mainly focused on the convergence analysis of the regularized solutions and discrete approximation of spaces and operators. The authors investigate the problem of the convergence rates of the regularized solutions of nonlinear monotone equations, and then give an example to illustrate the conditions to guarantee the convergence rates. Conditions that guarantee convergence rates like \({\mathcal O}(\delta^{{1\over 2}})\), \({\mathcal O}(\delta^{2\over 3})\), and \({\mathcal O}(\delta{{n\over n+1}})\) are given, where \(\delta\) denotes the noise level of the data perturbation.
