The property of a bounded normal operator \(T\) in a Krein space of being strongly stable is characterized by the existence of a neighborhood of \(T\) consisting of fundamentally reducible operators. This is a contribution to the corresponding topic in [\textit{T. Ya. Azizov} and \textit{I. S. Iokhvidov}, ``Linear operators in spaces with an indefinite metric'', John Wiley \& Sons Ltd., Chichester (1989; Zbl 0714.47028)].
