Let \(I\) be an index set, and for each \(i\in I\) let \(A_i\) be a unital \(C^*\)-algebra with a state \(\Phi_i\) whose GNS representation is faithful. The free product \(C^*\)-algebra that is the unique, unital \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) with unital embeddings \(A_i\to A\) and a state \(\Phi\) on \(A\) such that (i) \(\Phi|_{A_i}= \Phi_i\), (ii) \((A_i)_{i\in I}\) is free in \((A,\Phi)\), (iii) \(A= C^*\left(\bigcup_{i\in I} A_i\right)\), (iv) the GNS representation of \(\Phi\) is faithful on \(A\). In the present paper, the author proves that if the state \(\Phi_i\) is faithful on \(A_i\) for every \(i\in I\), then \(\Phi\) is faithful on \(A\).
