The main aim of the paper is to define a surface measure on surfaces of codimension \(n\) of a locally convex topological vector space \(X\), given a Radon measure \(\mu\) on \(X\). By a surface of codimension \(n\) the author means a subset \(S\subset X\) which can be expressed as \(S=F^{-1}(0)\), where \(F:X\rightarrow R^n\) is a map such that all of its components have the Gâteaux derivatives linearly independent in a neighborhood of \(S\). \textit{A. V. Uglanov} [Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 110(152), 189-217 (1979; Zbl 0435.46030)] has defined surface measures on surfaces of codimension 1 when \(F\) is continuous. In his construction the surface measure is the strong limit of measures on layers of decreasing thickness. \textit{V. I. Bogachev} [Acta Univ. Carol., Math. Phys. 31, No. 2, 9-23 (1990; Zbl 0834.46028)] defined the surface measures for surfaces of codimension 1 in the framework of Malliavin calculus using the weak limits. In the paper under review the author develops this idea to define surface measures for surfaces of codimension \(n\). He assumes that the determining function \(F\) has a continuous derivative along a subspace.
