The abstract of this paper reads: ``For a number of meaningful examples, nonresonant wave-type equations are shown to be characterized by periodic dynamics.'' The following conclusion is proffered at the end of the paper: ``Contrary to the views of many applied mathematicians, chaos in some systems of high dimension is caused by strengthening resonances rather than by detuning''.
