The author illustrates the concept of time-map and its applications to various (Dirichlet and periodic) BVPs associated to ODEs. The technique based on the three time-maps introduced here has various applications. The author studies the problem \[ u''(t)+ f\bigl(u(t)\bigr) =p \bigl(t,u(t), u'(t)\bigr), \quad u(0)=A,\;u(\pi)=B, \] and discusses the existence of positive solutions to an autonomous superlinear BVP.
