\textit{T. Eirola} and \textit{O. Nevanlinna} [Linear Algebra Appl. 121, 511-520 (1989; Zbl 0683.65018)] created a new iterative method for solving large sparse nonsymmetric linear systems (EN method). The new implementation of the EN method (given in this paper) needs less arithmetic operations and memory requirements compared with the original. Some numerical experiments show that it is competetive with the GMRES method.
