\textit{R. Dieckerhoff} and \textit{E. Zehnder} [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci., IV. Ser. 14, No. 1, 79-95 (1987; Zbl 0656.34027)] showed that all solutions to a certain Duffing-type equation are bounded and asked if this result depends on the smoothness assumptions with respect to the time-variable. Here, it is shown that Lipschitz or Zygmund continuity of the time-depending coefficients suffices.
