The author examines the synchronization behaviour of a Hamiltonian version of Kuramoto's model for coupled oscillators, which is similar to the Vlasov-Poisson equation. The ordering is measured by a kinetic scalar and increasing coupling strength linearly destabilizes a in that sense desynchronized solution. In a stable range of the coupling the ordering decreases exponentially to zero in an intermediate time scale, yet asymptotically like \(t^{-3/2}\) for \(t\) to zero.
