This paper proposes a multiresolution procedure adapted to triangular cell-averages to improve the performance of finite volume schemes by reducing flux evaluation cost. A specific coarse-to-fine prediction scheme is proposed that ensures the stability of the computations, even when a large number of scales are involved. Numerical tests are presented to illustrate the computational gain as well as the order of accuracy of the scheme.
