Based on a solution published orginally by \textit{K. Lanczos} [Gen. Relativ. Gravitation 29, No. 3, 359-399 (1997; Zbl 0873.53063)] the authors propose a stationary, axisymmetric solution of the Einstein equations, which describes rigidly rotating dust accompanied by a matter shell of the same type. The paper is related to previous work by \textit{A. Georgiou} on charged dust solutions [Classical Quantum Gravity 11, 167-186 (1994)].
