A transport equation for blood production is studied. The method of characteristics is used to transform it to integral equation. Starting from a given initial value, the integral equation is solved by iteration. The steady state solution is shown to exist and to be stable. Regularity of the time dependent solution and its convergence as the time lag tends to zero are shown. (There is a misprint in equation (3.2) where \(u\) is the right-hand side should be replaced by \(u^{(k-1)}\)).
