On the Heisenberg group \(H^{n}\) the spherical means are \(f*\mu_{r}(z,t)\) where \(\mu_{r}\) is the normalized surface measure on \(\{(z,t):|z|=r\}\). This operator is injective on \(L^{p}\), \(p<\infty\), on the Heisenberg group. If one instead considers the reduced Heisenberg group \(H^n_{\text{red}}\), the spherical means \(f*\mu_{r}(z,t)\) are not injective on any \(L^{p}\) space. If one considers functions in a subclass, if a continuous function satisfies that \(f(z,t)e^{a|z|^{2}}\) is integrable for all positive \(a\) then \(f*\mu_{r}=0\) for some \(r\), then \(f=0\), i.e. the operator is injective. Another problem is: Take a set \(\Gamma\) and the condition that \(f*\mu_{r}(z,t)=0\) for all points in \(\Gamma\) and all \(r\). If this implies that \(f=0\) then \(\Gamma\) is called a set of injectivity. Examples of such sets are given. These problems are first studied in \({\mathbb C}^{n}\) together with the twisted convolution.
