The authors present constructions for ternary codes with parameters \([2^n,n+1]\) and \([2^n,n+2]\), continuing and improving work by \textit{C. Ding, D. Kohel} and \textit{S. Ling} [IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory 46, 280-284 (2000; Zbl 0998.94026); Theor. Comput. Sci. 246, 285-298 (2000; Zbl 0951.68029)]. Some of the codes studied can in a certain sense be viewed as analogues of binary Reed-Muller codes.
