On some infinite product identities (Q5940645): Difference between revisions

The paper derives two new infinite product identities similar in character to those in \textit{R. Blecksmith}, \textit{J. Brillhart} and \textit{I. Gerst} [Parity results for certain partition functions and identities similar to theta function identities, Math. Comput. 48, 29-38 (1987; Zbl 0617.10010)] and \textit{R. Blecksmith}, \textit{J. Brillhart} and \textit{I. Gerst} [Some infinite product identities, Math. Comput. 51, 301-314 (1988; Zbl 0655.10010)]. The identities in this paper were discovered by computer investigation and were proved using an identity for sigma functions due to Weierstrass. The authors additionally show how similar identities from the references above also follow from the Weierstrass identity.
