The author deals with the new representation formula for the spectral shift function due to F.Gesztesy and K. A. Makarov. This formula is extended to the case of relatively trace class perturbations. The extended result is proved without the assumption on the sign of the perturbation and without assuming that the self-adjoint operators \(H\) and \(H_0\) are semibounded from below for a broader class of functions.
