Dido's inequality affirms that among all curves of prescribed length contained in a half-plane and joining two given points in the boundary of the half-plane, the semicircle covers the greatest area. The analogous problem for convex polygons is solved by polygons inscribed in a semicircle. \textit{A. Bezdek} and \textit{K. Bezdek} [Elem. Math. 4, 92-100 (1989; Zbl 0703.05036)] proved that these polygons have also the greatest area among all the arrangements of segments, with prescribed lengths, which are pointwise connected. The author extends the result to the class of all sets of segments with the property that each segment of the set intersects the convex hull of the segments preceding it.
