The existence of a pseudo almost-periodic solution \(y\in\text{PAP}\) to \[ \bigl(y(t)+ py(t-1)\bigr)' =qy\left(2\left[ {t+1\over 2}\right] \right)+ f(t) \] is shown provided that \(0<|p|\neq 1\), \(q\neq 0,1\), \(f\in \text{PAP}\) and the roots \(\lambda_j\) of a characteristic equation are simple with \(|\lambda_j |\neq 1\). Here, PAP contains all \(g:\mathbb{R} \to\mathbb{R}\) with \(g=g_1+ g_2\), \(g_1\) almost-periodic and \(g_2\) continuous with \(\lim_{T\to\infty} {1 \over 2T} \int^T_{-T}|g_2(t)|dt=0\) [see \textit{C. Zhang}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 181, No. 1, 62-76 (1994; Zbl 0796.34029)]. Similar results hold for pseudoperiodic solutions and for suitable nonlinear perturbations. In the proof, PAP sequences and corresponding difference equations are used.
