The problem considered is that of heat transfer in a thin film, so that in the thin direction the Fourier law of heat conduction is modified by the introduction of time lags. The authors introduce a second-order finite difference method and use an energy method to prove stability. Several iterative schemes for the linear algebra problem are examined.
