The Hecke group \(G_q\) is generated by the two linear fractional transformations \(z\mapsto -\frac 12\) and \(z\to z+2\cos \frac \pi q\) with \(q\geq 3\) and \(z\in{\mathfrak H}\), the upper half plane. For \(q=3\) we have \(G_3\cong \text{PSL}(2,\mathbb{Z})\), the classical modular group. Using this, it is easy to determine the normalizers of congruence subgroups of the arithmetic Hecke groups \(G_4\) and \(G_6\).
