The contents of the paper under review are best described by the author's own words: ``The aim of this paper is to give a survey of results concerning orbits, weak orbits and polynomial orbits of operators. We always try to construct all types of orbits as regular as possible.'' It is noteworthy that the present paper contains improved versions of several known results on orbits of operators, see, e.g., the book by \textit{B. Beauzamy} [``Introduction to operator theory and invariant subspaces'' (North-Holland Mathematical Library 42, North-Holland, Amsterdam) (1988; Zbl 0663.47002)]. Related facts can be found in the author's recent monograph [``Spectral theory of linear operators and spectral systems in Banach algebras'' (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications 139, Birkhäuser, Basel) (2003; Zbl 1017.47001)].
