Approximations for the constant \(e\) were obtained by many authors including Yang and Debnath; Yang; Sándor and Debnath; Xie and Zhong, etc. The author now uses a series representation for \({1\over e}(1+ 1/x)^x\), in order to strengthen the inequalities of Hardy, as well as Carleman.
