    Let \({\mathcal A}\) be a \(\sigma\)-algebra and \(\mu:{\mathcal A}\to [0,+\infty]\) a monotone function with \(\mu(\emptyset)= 0\). A \(\mu\)-null set is a set \(N\in{\mathcal A}\) such that \(\mu(N\cup E)= \mu(E)\) for all \(E\in{\mathcal A}\). A \(\mu\)-semiatom is a set \(S\in{\mathcal A}\) such that for every \(A\in{\mathcal A}\cap S\) one has: \(\mu(A\cup E)= \mu(E)\) for any \(A\in{\mathcal A}\cap S^c\) or \(\mu(A\cup E)= \mu(S\cup E)\) for any \(A\in{\mathcal A}\cap S^c\). Let \(S\) and \(T\) be \(\mu\)-semiatoms. It is proved that \(S\cup T\) and \(S\cap T\) are \(\mu\)-semiatoms if \(S\cap T\) is not a \(\mu\)-null set, and \(S\setminus T\), \(T\setminus S\) and \(S\Delta T\) are \(\mu\)-semiatoms if \(S\setminus T\) and \(T\setminus S\) are not \(\mu\)-null sets.
