For general relativistic non-rotating perfect fluid spacetimes a generalized form of Friedmann's equations for the expansion factor of spatially averaged portions of inhomogeneous cosmologies is derived. The averaging is performed by finding effective equations of state which include kinematical and dynamical terms which are connected with the deviations from the standard FRW cosmology. Applications for radiation-dominated and scalar field cosmology are given.
