On the geometry of tangent bundles (Q1599606): Difference between revisions

First, the autors recall in their own language and notations the properties of the Sasaki metric on the tangent bundle \(TM\) of a smooth manifold \(M\). Secondly, they consider the Cheeger-Gromoll metric on \(TM\) and reprove in all details the recent results on this metric due to \textit{O. Kowalski} and \textit{M. Sekizawa} [ Bull. Tokyo Gakugei Univ., Sect. IV, Ser. Math. Nat. Sci. 40, 1-29 (1988; Zbl 0656.53021)]\ and \textit{E. Musso} and \textit{F. Tricerri} [Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., IV. Ser. 150, 1-19 (1988; Zbl 0658.53045)]. They correct a calculation and reformulate related results of \textit{M. Sekizawa} [Tokyo J. Math. 14, No. 2, 407-417 (1991; Zbl 0768.53020)].
