For solving nonsymmetric linear equations the improved successive overrelaxation (SOR) method with ordering is examined. The authors investigate all conditions for multiple relaxation parameters such that the spectral radii of the corresponding improved SOR matrices for an \(n\times n\) tridiagonal matrix are \(0\). Some examples of such selections are presented. Similar results are obtained for Hessenberg matrices as well.
