The paper concerns ill-posed problems \(A(y)=f\) with unbounded closed nonlinear operators. Given is \(f_\delta\) such that \(\| f-f_\delta\| \leq\delta\). The variational regularization and the method of quasisolutions are considered, where the functionals \(\| Au-f_\delta\| +\delta\phi(u)\) for \(u\in D(A)\) and \(\| Au-f_\delta\| \) for \(u\) in a chosen compact set \(K\) (\(y\in K\)) are minimized, respectively. In both methods, minimizing sequences \(\{u_j\}\) are taken into account. The author proves that for a certain choice \(u(\delta):=u_{j(\delta)}\) of a member of such a fixed minimizing sequence, the convergence \(\| u_\delta-y\| \to 0\) as \(\delta\to 0\) holds.
