In [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 130, 3423-3431 (2002; Zbl 1008.54011)] the authors of the present paper described biquotient, effective descent, triquotient, open and proper maps by their lifting properties of chains of convergent ultrafilters. In the paper under review these characterizations are used to prove stability of the considered mappings under special limits. By their similar behaviour on lifting chains of convergent ultrafilters, on the one hand several results are obtained on limit stability of open and perfect maps, and, on the other hand, unified proofs are given of the pullback stability and of the product stability of biquotient, effective descent and triquotient maps.
