The authors consider a linear elliptic partial differential equation with a small parameter, multiplying one or both of the second derivatives. They suggest that Lardy's method of regularization provides a suitable way of obtaining an approximate numerical solution. They discuss the convergence of the process and point out that the associated regularized problems are well-posed. They illustrate the process by some examples and give the results in diagramatice form.
