For \(q\) a Pisot number, and \(m\) a positive integer, define the increasing sequence \(y_0= 0< y_1< y_2<\cdots\) of real numbers \(y\) that can be written as \(y= \sum_0^m \varepsilon_iq^i\), where \(\varepsilon_i\) belongs to \(\{0,1,\dots, m-1\}\). The first difference sequence \((y_{k+1}- y_k)_{k\geq 0}\) was first studied by \textit{P. Erdős, I. Joó} and \textit{V. Komornik} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 118, 377--390 (1990; Zbl 0721.11005)]. In the paper under review the authors determine the structure of the sequence \((y_{k+1}- y_k)_{k\geq 0}\) when \(m\geq q-1\). They prove in particular that it can be generated by a morphism on a finite alphabet, and they determine the value \(\inf_k (y_{k+1}- y_k)\). Please note that Reference [B1] can be completed by a paper of the same author (\textit{Y. Bugeaud}) in Arch. Math. 79, 34--38 (2002; Zbl 1037.11012).
