The authors consider the following quasilinear second-order differential equation \[ \biggl(g\bigl( u'(t)\bigr)\biggr)' +a(t)f(u)=0,\;0<t< 1, \] subject to one of the following two pairs of boundary conditions: \(u(0)-B_0 (u'(\eta))=0\), \(u'(1)=0\), and \(u'(0)=0\), \(u(1)+B_1(u'(\eta))=0\), where \(g(v)=|v |^{p-2}v\), \(p>1\), is called a \(p\)-Laplacean operator, and \(\eta\in [0,1]\) is a constant. The function \(f\) is continuous, \(a(t)\) is a nonnegative measurable function which does not identically vanish on any interval and satisfies the conditon \(0<\int^1_0 a(t)dt< \infty\). \(B_0\) and \(B_1\) are constants satisfying certain inequalities. Using the Krasnoselskij fixed-point theorem, they show that, under certain additional conditions imposed on the function \(f\), the above mentioned problem has at least two positive solutions.
