This paper is devoted to nonclassical symmetries of evolution equations in two independent variables. In [Phys. D 78, 124-134 (1994; Zbl 0815.35008)], the current author proved that iterations of the nonclassical symmetries method give rise to new nonlinear equations, so-called heir-equations, which inherit the point symmetry algebra of the initial equation. In this paper, it is shown that the special solutions of the heir-equation correspond to classical and nonclassical symmetries of the initial equation. It is shown that an infinite number of evolution equations admitting nonclassical symmetries can be generated by this method.
