    Let \(\Gamma=\{\xi\in \mathbb R^{d+1}: \xi_{d+1}=\sqrt{\xi_1^2+\cdots\xi_d^2}\}\) be the light cone. Let \(N\) be a large parameter and let \(\Gamma_N(C)= \{\xi\in \mathbb R^{d+1}: 2^{-C}N\leq|\xi|\leq 2^C N\}\), with \(C\) a fixed constant. For fixed \(N\), set a partition of unity subordinate to a covering of \(S^{d-1}\) by caps \(\Theta\) of diameter \(N^{-1/2}\) and set \(y_{\Theta}\) an associated smooth partition of unity on \(\Gamma_N(C)\). Let \(E_{\Theta}\) be a function whose Fourier transform coincides with \(y_{\Theta}\) on \(\Gamma_N(1)\). The main result of this paper asserts that, if \(d\geq 3\) and \(p>p_d:=\min(2+8/(d-3), 2+32/(3d-7))\), then for every \(\varepsilon\), there exists a constant \(C_{\varepsilon}\) such that, for every function \(f\) with \(\widehat f\) supported in \(\Gamma_N(1)\), it holds that \[ \| f\|_p\leq C_{\varepsilon} N^{\varepsilon} N^{(d-1)/2-d/p}\| f\|_{p, \min}, \] where \[ \| f\|_{p, \min}=\left(\sum_{\Theta} \| E_{\Theta} * f\|_p^p\right)^{1/p}. \]
