This paper is a model of sloppy writing in most of its aspects. For example: (1) bibliographical references are practically irretrievable both because the names of Chinese authors are `anglicized' and `simplified' in an absurd way. For example `Qian Baocong' becomes `B. C. Qian' but `Bai Shangshu' is turned into `S. Bai'. As for `Z. J.' the present reviewer is unable to restitute the original name, (2) Chinese titles and names of editors are given only in translation, (3) contrary to what the author proudly asserts, there is no such a thing as a proof of any of these formulae, in any Chinese ancient source, and these are not even listed in the bibliography, (4) previous and incomparably better works on the same subject such as \textit{Ang Tian-Se}, `The Use of Interpolation techniques in Chinese Calendar', Oriens Extremus, 23, No. 2, 135--151 (1976) are wholly ignored.
