    With any proper simplicial subcomplex of an abstract simplex one can associate the so-called Bier sphere. This note provides a short non-recursive proof of the (non-trivial) fact that the Bier sphere is actually a sphere, bringing to light some of the inherent structure of the Bier spheres.
